Looking Ahead: Moving the Gymnasium Vision Forward
We heard you! In our spring 2026 community poll, you identified the gymnasium as GDA’s next major capital project. We recognize how important this space is to our school community and are committed to taking the next steps toward making this vision a reality.
Our gymnasium is one of the most heavily used spaces on campus. It serves students in physical education from kindergarten through 10th grade five days a week, hosts Grammar School opening ceremonies four days a week, provides indoor recess during inclement weather, and supports basketball, cheerleading, volleyball, and archery throughout their respective seasons. It is more than a gymnasium, it is gathering place for our community, where we come together for so many other special moments that bring our GDA family together.
We want to “Move That Gym Wall” and move this vision forward!
A project of this scale requires thoughtful planning, significant resources, and the partnership of those who share our vision for GDA’s future. As planning continues, we want to begin conversations with donors who may be interested in helping bring this vision to life. Outdoor Basketball Court & Permanent 9 Square Court
We envision a dedicated outdoor recreation space with a basketball court and a permanent 9 Square court where students can safely play, build friendships, and make lasting memories.
Currently, students often play in the parking lot among moving vehicles or in the dirt yard, returning to class with muddy shoes. This project would provide a safer, more inviting space for physical activity, connection, and community.
Estimated Cost: $35,000
A custom-made 9 Square has been donated. Funding is still needed to prepare the ground for the concrete pad and complete the remaining court improvements.
Gloria Deo Entrance Sign Replacement
Our entrance sign is the first impression many families and visitors have of Gloria Deo Academy. We envision a timeless, traditional sign that reflects the beauty, values, and excellence of our school.
Unfortunately, our existing metal sign is rusting from the inside out and needs replacement. A new sign would create a welcoming entrance and a lasting symbol of GDA for generations to come.
Community Connections Needed
The estimates we have received have been higher than anticipated. Do you have a family connection, masonry experience, or other ideas that could help make this project more affordable? We would love to hear from you!
Science Lab
Our community survey revealed strong interest in a dedicated science lab for biology and chemistry. This space would expand hands-on learning opportunities and help students explore scientific concepts through experimentation and discovery.

Teacher Lounge Refresh
Our teachers give so much to our students each day. We would love to refresh the teacher lounge next spring by decluttering, repainting, replacing carpet, and creating a more organized, welcoming space.
One idea is a café-style setting where teachers can prepare lessons, work between classes, and enjoy a comfortable place to recharge during the school day.
